In the wake of legal and financial difficulties caused by the previous Momus album, Stars Forever was constructed as a way out of those woes. 30 songs about 30 people who each gave $ to have their likeness rendered in song by Momus. Such influential artists as Keigo Oyamada (aka Cornelius) and Jeff Koons (pop artist par exultance) paid 4/5(5).

Unlike Stars Forever, this version does not contain the interview. On both discs, the wrong label code 'LC ' is printed (belongs to KPM Music), while the back cover lists the correct code 'LC ' for Bungalow. On back cover: "On January 1st Momus announced that he would make pop song portraits of thirty people "4/5(1).

Befitting Momus' standing as contemporary pop's most eminent provocateur, Stars Forever is both -- a double-disc collection of analog-baroque cameos commissioned for $ each in the name of saving the singer's label from the ravages of legal fees, it's a frequently brilliant treatise on the never-ending battle between art and commerce, rising 9/

Stars Forever is our solution. This is the only time Momus will write this type of song. All your Stars Forever portrait money will go towards those astronomical legal costs. There will be thirty songs on the Stars Forever CD, each song approximately two minutes long. .

Stars Forever answered that question with a resounding “MAYBE!” But seriously, this album of synth-powered, filthy bedroom pop is strictly for the fans – literally. Each song is dedicated to a particular patron, and the best of them are every bit as wonderful / clever / tricky as the finest indie-pop.
